The Martial Arts America School is dedicated to teaching the young and not so young the art of Tae Kwon Do. In Korean, derived from hanja, tae (跆) means "trample on with the legs"; kwon (拳) means "pound on with the fist/arms"; and do (道) means "way". Hence, tae kwon do is loosely translated as "the way of the hand and foot".
Classes of all branches typically consist of the following:
- Exercises and stretching to get warmed up
- Hand and foot technique drills
- Practicing of forms
- Practicing of Step-sparring and self-defense techniques
- Finally light or no contact free sparring.
